The Texas Giant was a wooden coaster at Six Flags Over Texas from 1990 until 2009. = HISTORY = The coaster opened on March 17th, 1990, and upon it's opening, it was notable for causing Dorney Park, who had Hercules, a wooden coaster with a bigger drop, to attempt to sue Six Flags for false advertising. The suit ended with both parties being allowed to claim it's the tallest in the world, as while Hercules had a bigger drop, The Texas Giant was much higher off the ground. = DETAILS = Location - Six Flags Over Texas (Arlington, Texas, USA) Opening Date - March 17th, 1990 Closing Date - November 1st, 2009 Material - Wood Genre - Sit-Down Thrill Level - Extreme Make - Dinn Corporation Model - Supersize Wooden Coaster Length - 4,920 feet Height - 143 feet Drop - 137 feet Speed - 62 miles per hour Inversions - 0 Vertical Angle - 53 degrees Duration - 2 minutes Elements - Chain Lift Trains - 3 Cars per Train - 6 Riders Across - 2 Rows per Car - 2 Riders per Train - 24 Restraints -...
